LOSS of SERVICE
11th,12th and 13th
June 2007
On Monday the local electricity supplier decided to drop the
mains for 3 hours and our 2-hour battery ran out ...
On Tuesday the overnight back-up filled up
a disk partition and crashed MySQL
On Wednesday yet another problem did a similar thing
Hopefully we have diagnosed the problem and fixed it
Apologies
3rd Feb 2007
Well it has taken 4 months but the internet connection for
the site has finally settled down and running at 4M.
Every bit of hardware from our router back to the BT exchange
router has been replaced. 5th Dec 2006
We continue to have sporadic loss of service somewhere between
BT and Inweb and apologise for the lack of 100% uptime
Customers who pay DNS connection charges will be credited their
month's fee for November.
14th Nov 2006
We lost service around 1800hrs
It is thought to be the upstream Inweb router or possibly the
BT line - but we have to rely on the supplier to fix it
Our engineer had to go to site and re-boot our router after
the service came back on Wed morning around 8am
Our apologies - it means that the 12/11/2006 fault was also
not ours but upstream 12th Nov 2006
We lost service around 1600hrs
This was due to a stalled router which had been installed the
week before to provide a faster service
Sadly we had to actually visit the server which would not respond
remotely and the engineer didn't get there
until 8am Monday 13th
We apologise for any inconvenience
The upgraded router has resulted in a 4x improvement in bandwidth
We also removed the busiest site, which was hogging bandwidth
on the server, to a new location
Security
This is a good opportunity, while we have your attention, to
remind you that we cannot be responsible for
loss of service or the security of your data
We spend a lot of money and effort trying to achieve 100% integrity
but it is never going to be perfect
If you feel we should audit our joint arrangements then please
