Jan and Myk Pant taxi/train/taxi/train/taxi to Gatwick hotel to fly to Venice 1st taxi ordered for 10am ~1005 taxi crashed on way to Red House 1010 Myk realises phones disconnected and replugs phone which is ringing... 3 phone calls go by taxi finally tips up with not enough time to get to Gobowen train is couple minutes late but we make it ! the stress of nearly losing the first link is ghastly Jandy and David from Australia car to Brisbane airport fly to Dubai/Venice leave home early to avoid G20 summit traffic problem arrive at airport with 7 hrs to spare ! drink and buy lots of duty free fly to Dubai very happy so leave passports & duty free on plane not allowed to return to plane detained at Dubai on arrival replacing passports means they miss their next plane ... replacing passports in Arabic airport is less than straightforward when they assume you are at least a terrorist Sylvia from New Zealand route: fly from Wellington to Venice detained at Wellington and refused boarding we have her cruise tickets cruise is Venice-Dubai she has no return ticket from Venice - it's from Dubai spends 2 hrs convincing authorities that we have her tickets and that she is not a migrant terrorist Lorraine from S Africa I am still laughing and will report her story later please forward to your respective other half we are supposed to get on board later today |
