| thank you to those who pointed out my dyslexic spelling errors We docked at Bari, Italy just before noon, Nov 26th, shirtsleeve weather. Sylvia, Jan and I wanted to find an internet cafe, so with no excursion booked we went ashore and got a bus to the centre of town. Jan espies a pizzeria and we dive in to a magnificent old church-style stone building converted to a restaurant. Noone speaks english, Sylvia had university Italian but remembers virtually nothing. We sign for two pizzas, 2 beers and a glass of wine. Sylvia detects what she believes is a mobile phone service on her eyefone, but it is WiFi !!! which is free of course - mission accomplished 200yds from where the bus stopped. We sign the waiter who fingers the the world's most common password 12345678 !! - you could not make it up ! I make all 3 fones connect while we await pizza. Jan reads my last cruise missive to Sylvia and they both have an uncontrolled giggle over earlier mislaid items. I think they were happy it ended well and became funny adter the event. Picture shows girls sharing a pizza, the one with Jan giggling is all blurred. Back on board the girls wanted to try the free cocktail, as we drited towards the required bar, I mentoned I wanted a 'slow comfortable screw up against the wall'. Sylvia was non-plussed but Jan said is like a Harvey Wall banger (it isn't) when we got to the bar which is in the Spa, there was a large array of drinks, but our free cocktail was specifically a very sweet strawberry concoction. So much for a 'screw ...' then they went for hairdressing and massage while I wrote this ... the plan is to meet at 7pm for a cocktail, dinner is at 8 so it will be more than one. I have been asked who the stars of this saga Jan - my control unit Sylvia - her sister John - her brother Vonny - his wife Lorraine - her sister Jandy - John's daughter Dave - her husband thank you for the kind remarks about these outpourings |
