Was awoken a bit later today by the Dragon turning all the lights on in my cabin. I have a sore throat but it seems to have improved over night. Went for breakfast, the sea is calm and there is a lot of it, sun is out and so are the vast mass of half naked bodies lying around the decks. Jan and I queued on deck 5 with the other passengers to have our passports taken away- a somewhat uncomfortable sensation - something to do with Petra I assume a visa. Jan and I also visited the Reception on deck 6 to query why 17 euros was being added to our bill every day. It is an optional service charge, we declined the option but apparently they are still going to keep adding it. The receptionist was Pia Onesta and the time and date 1045 on Dec 1st/ We all played mini-golf for half an hour this am. The course is all of 5 quite short holes, but the uneven 'dark green' bits meant that the real golfers had no advantage. After a light lunch - we had to share tables which was uncomfortable, I snoozed in my cabin. The absolute highlight of the day was an OCCL container boat which we missed and a close second the coastguard vessel with no country flag. Had most of a bottle of Penfold's Rawsons Retreat for supper, so the walk went well ... Only 12 days to go... |
