We entered the Suez Canal last night and sailed down at 9 knots, to arrive at the Red Sea just after breakfast. The Red Sea is like the Red House, it isn't red. This morning Jan and I got her yet another cabin key (looks like a credit card) this one seems to work. We also queried our bill because last night I sent back bottle of wine unopened because it was the wrong one. They charged us both for the wrong one and the right one and Jan for 2 bottles when she only had one. They are 'investigating' As we progressed down the Red Sea, I noticed a shore wind farm. It was on our starboard side for a whole hour, at 24 knots that is over 25 miles of windmills. After lunch I played canasta with Jan & Sylvia, the others were lost in the maddening crowd. We all met up for a boozy dinner and told family stories. Tomorrow is Aqaba (see Lawrence of Arabia) We have to be up early to visit Petra - the big deal on this trip. Then it is 3 days at sea |
